GREENVILLE— A Darke County woman was arraigned on assault charges in Darke County Common Pleas court on Thursday. Darke County Common Pleas Judge Travis L. Fliehman presided.

Jessica R. Walker, 46, of New Madison, was arraigned on one count of assault on a peace officer, a fourth-degree felony. If convicted, she faces up to 18 months incarceration, and a maximum fine of up to $5,000. Walker pleaded not guilty, and retained attorney Dennis Leibermann.

She’s awaiting sentencing on separate charges of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and failure to stop, a fifth-degree felony. On those charges, she faces between two and nine years incarceration, and a fine of up to $16,500.

After an incident regarding an RV parked in the Butler Township parking lot on Dec. 21, 2021, she was found guilty last week of knowingly hitting Robert Yant, 57, with her mini cooper, causing long-term physical harm.

Walker is being held on her most recent charges at the Darke County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
