The Village of Pleasant Hill would like to honor the men and women who have proudly served their country. The village is looking for individuals or groups to sponsor a Hometown Hero pole banner.

These banners will become the property of the Village of Pleasant Hill and will be displayed, cared for, and stored by the village.

The banners will be displayed on Main Street from Memorial Day through Veteran’s Day for approximately three years, then returned to the purchaser(s).

We are looking for Village of Pleasant Hill or Newton Township men and women to honor with this display.

Who can be pictured on a pole banner?

Any person who has been/is a resident of the Village of Pleasant Hill or Newton Township and served in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces can be honored. The honoree can be active duty, Reserve, National Guard, honorably discharged, retired or killed in action.

Who can purchase a pole banner?

An individual, family, group, or business can purchase a banner.

How much does it cost?

Each honoree banner picture will be in black and white or color (depending on the picture provided) and printed on both sides. 24” x 48” banner displays on the poles around the Village – $90.00 each

What form of payment is accepted, and whom do I pay?

Checks should be made payable to the Village of Pleasant Hill with a special notation for Hometown Heroes. Cash (in person) or Credit Card are also accepted in person and on the village website (www.pleasanthillohio.com)

Is this tax deductible?

No.

What do I need to submit?

1 – Application (below) containing, at minimum, the veteran’s first and last name and branch of service.

2 – Photograph of the veteran – military dress preferred. This picture can be an actual photograph or a digital image. Digital images need to be high resolution and at least 600DPI.

3 – Payment (cash, credit card, or check payable to the Village of Pleasant Hill).

How do I submit my photograph?

Actual photographs – Actual photographs will be scanned and transferred to a high-resolution digital image. Photographs submitted will be available for pickup at the city building when proofs are accepted and approved by the printing company, approximately mid-June.

Digital photographs – Can be brought to the Village Office, 200 Walnut St., on a thumb drive. These need to be large, high-resolution images, at least 600DPI. Acceptable formats for these photos are Corel Draw (.cdr) version 11 or earlier, Encapsulated PostScript (.eps), Adobe Illustrator (.ail) version 10 or earlier, In Design, PDF, Photoshop (.psd), and .jpg files.

Email images – Images submitted via email need to specify the Hometown Heroes image in the subject line and can be emailed directly to HometownHeroes@PleasantHillOhio.com
