VERSAILLES – Kirsten Bomholt, the MAC volleyball Player of the Year and First Team All-Ohio selection signed her letter of intent to take her volleyball skills to the next level with the University of Findlay Lady Oiler volleyball program.

“I like the environment,” Bomholt said of her choice of Findlay. “The girls are really nice and they are very welcoming.”

“When she walked in the gym as a freshman you knew there was something special,” said Versailles volleyball coach, Liz McNeilan. “She has that natural knack – she is very driven, she is passionate about the game, she loves the game so I am very excited for her to see this next level.”

Bomholt, the daughter of Nate and Jean Bomholt plans to study Health Science with plans of getting her Masters in Physical Therapy.

Bomholt and Coach McNeilan are excited to see what is in store for the Versailles senior at the NCAA DII school where she hopes to be an outside hitter in a six rotation.

“Probably not a starter my freshman year but definitely I will work my way up,” Bomholt stated.

“She will do well, she will love the competition, it’s the next level and she’s ready for that,” said McNeilan. “When she walks in that gym in the fall I think she’s going to be pumped and ready to go.”

“She’s put in the hours, she’s put in the time, the blood, sweat and tears,” McNeilan added. “She set her goals high and very proud of her to take this next step.”
