Urban J. Drees age 91, of Yorkshire passed away at 4:07 am Monday, May 29, 2023, at Versailles Rehab & Healthcare Center.

Urban was born December 20, 1931, in Shelby County, to the late Edward U. & Josephine M. (Siegel) Drees.

Urban was also preceded in death by his step mother, Laurene Monnin Hartzell Drees; first wife, Rita A. (Seger) Drees; 2 nd wife, Pauline (Feltz) Schemmel Drees; daughter, Deborah Ann Drees; son, Edward J. Drees; step daughter-in-law, Brenda Schemmel; brother, Paul Drees; brothers-in-law, Merv Schulze, Vernon Hilgefort and Keith Batty; and sister-in-law, Lois Drees.

Urban is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law, Daniel P. & Susan Drees of Canal Winchester, Kevin J. & Lisa Drees of Versailles and Brian N. & Kelly Drees of Hilliard; step children, Janice & Dave Clune, Jeff Schemmel and John & Rita Schemmel; grandchildren, Jamie & Jared Gaul of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Brittany & Matt Harman of Versailles, Ohio, Casey Drees of Baltimore, Ohio, Ashley & Justin Baechle of Westfield, Indiana, Tanner Drees of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Jacob Drees of Hilliard, Ohio; 6 great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren; numerous step great grandchildren; brothers & sisters-in law, Carl & Linda Drees of Versailles and Alvin & Karen Drees of Versailles; sisters & brother-in-law, Eileen Schulze of Versailles, Marjorie Hilgefort of Newport, Edna Batty of Versailles and Patricia & Bud Wright of Versailles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Urban served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Urban owned and operated Urb Drees Construction for 38 years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Osgood, St. Denis Knights of Columbus, and Osgood American Legion Post #588 where he was a former Commander. Urban formerly served on the Osgood Park Board and was a former Osgood little league coach. Urban was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and Marion Local Flyers fan. He enjoyed traveling, dancing, golfing, fishing and hunting.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Osgood with Rev. Fr. Stephen Jones celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Martin Cemetery in Osgood with full military honors conducted by the Osgood American Legion Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 am at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
