GREENVILLE—The Kiwanis Aktion Club Member of the Month for March 2023, is Shannon LaTou.
LaTou is an original member of Aktion Club, and has been in the club since about 2016. She was nominated by her peers due to her constant willingness to help.
In fact, LaTou, who attends dayhab at Artsense and lives at UCM Residential Services in Union City, has a job as well.
She’s paid for her job at UCM, which includes cleaning off the trash can, mopping floors, shredding papers.
She was very surprised to receive her trophy and certificate, and proudly keeps them in her room beside her bed.
In her free time, she loves to volunteer with Aktion Club.
“She’s always helpful, very kind and caring,” Sue Huston, Community Connections & Advocacy Coordinator at Darke County Developmental Disabilities said.
In addition to volunteering, LaTou loves coffee, which she drinks every day, multiple times and music—like New Kids on The Block and Garth Brooks.
