GREENVILLE – Darke County Parks completed its third annual Bash at Bish, with a large number attending the hot and humid Saturday event in Greenville.
“Things are going great,” said Megan Hammaker, Special Events Coordinator. “I was a little worried with the heat wave again, but people are turning up and turning out.”
The day was packed with free outdoor fun at Darke County Park’s Bish Discovery Center and Alice Bish Park, featuring various activities such as tree climbing, paddling, archery, rock climbing, face painting, and yard games.
“New this year, we have the Zipline and Ninja Warrior Course,” Hammaker noted. “Both of those went over super well.”
“Our vendors are happy and all of our food trucks are happy,” continued Hammaker. “I am incredibly happy with the turnout. We are at least at the numbers we had last year, and possibly surpassing them. Last year, we had around 600 people, and we are at least at that. The music tent has been consistently full with the music going on.”
Presenting sponsors for the event were Eldora Speedway, UAW Local 2413, and Weaver Eggs.
“An event like this couldn’t happen without the support of the community and all of our amazing volunteers taking time out of their day, especially in the heat,” Hammaker said. “Seeing all the community smiling makes it all worth it.”
