Rose Wickham, loving Mother and Grammy, passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family, on Friday, August 28, after a long, brave battle with cancer. Rose was 70 and was a long-term resident of Greenville, Ohio. She was born on May 31, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio to Joseph and Emma (Parker) Baldwin.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 40 years, (Chester) Skip Wickham, her parents, her sister (Debra) Sue Walker, her brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Marsha Baldwin and her sweet puppy, Chloe.
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her three children, Olivia (Greg) Stiver of Alvin, Texas, Shannon (James) Smith of Huntington, Indiana, and Bryan (Michaela) Wickham of St. Mary, Ohio; her seven grandchildren, Mackenzie Weist, Austin (Rain) Weist, Torrance Wickham, Kai Smith, Ariya (Kadyn) Wickham, Grayce Wickham and Zandyr Wickham; her 5 great-grandchildren, Easton McDonald, (Audrey) Candace McDonald, August Weist-Brown, Willa Weist, and Daisy Weist; and her two Miniature Pinschers, Addyson and Emylee.
Rose was a registered nurse who spent her career caring for children. She enjoyed sewing and crafting and was an award-winning sewer. She loved spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite time of year, when she could shower her loved ones with gifts and share her love of gadgets. She especially enjoyed watching horror movies and would never turn down a good movie night with family and popcorn.
Rose will always be in the hearts of her family, and her kindness, love, and compassion will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Per her request, there will be no service. Donations can be made, in lieu of flowers to the Darke County Humane Society or to the Darke County Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville.
