GREENVILLE – A beloved television tradition is coming to storytime at Greenville Public Library this fall. Beginning Tuesday, September 15, families are invited to join Daniel Tiger & Friends for six weeks of special storytimes presented in partnership with PBS KIDS.
Storytime will be offered every Tuesday and Wednesday at 11 a.m. throughout the six-week series. Children can look forward to stories, songs, activities, and plenty of fun featuring Daniel Tiger and his friends.
For generations, families have grown up with the warmth and kindness of Fred Rogers and Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Daniel Tiger carries on that tradition for a new generation through Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, bringing many of the same themes of kindness, friendship, understanding feelings, and learning about the world around us to today’s young viewers.
This special program is the result of the hard work of GPL Children’s Librarian Ms. Ashley Cook, who has worked to bring this exciting PBS KIDS opportunity to Greenville families.
“We’re so excited to bring Daniel Tiger and his friends to the library,” said Ms. Ashley. “There’s something really special about sharing characters and lessons that have been meaningful to generations of families, while introducing them to a whole new generation of children.”
The six-week series will give families an opportunity to enjoy the familiar world of Daniel Tiger while making reading, music, learning, and connection part of their weekly routine.
Daniel Tiger & Friends Storytime begins September 15 at 11 a.m. at Greenville Public Library. Families are invited to join us for this special celebration of stories, songs, friendship, and fun.
