DAYTON — The Greenville varsity boys golf team set a school record Monday, shooting a 143 on the par-35 Community Golf Course to defeat Stebbins 143-207 in a Miami Valley League match.
“Everyone played really well,” veteran Greenville coach Brian Stickel said. “It’s always tough to play on a Monday.”
Brody Weaver led the Green Wave with a 2-under-par 33, tying the school record for a par-35 course.
“Really happy for him and the rest of the team,” Stickel said. “Hopefully, we can continue to play that well.”
Hayden Null carded a 35, Braxton Moore shot a 37 and Harper Kerns finished with a 38 to complete Greenville’s four counting scores.
Hayden Burns added a 39, and Layden Wion finished with a 42. All six Greenville golfers posted lower scores than Stebbins’ top golfer, who shot a 44.
The Green Wave will host West Carrollton on Tuesday before playing Fairborn on Thursday.
“We should get those two matches,” Stickel said. “These kids just keep working to get better. I am very happy for them.”
