PITSBURG – Pitsburg Lions Club held its Christmas Party dinner, during which members enjoyed a meal together, great conversations, and comradery.
This year, they gathered money from their members who want to donate to the Greenville Boys & Girls Club. The Club provides a party and gifts for all attendees. Each child receives a gift and a $10 gift card to local merchants in Darke County.
The Pitsburg Lions Club raised money to sponsor 22 children. The Lions Club is active and enjoys giving back to its community.
Tom Jenkins, his wife, Diane, and several other workers and volunteers have run the club for many years.
Tom Jenkins shared that the donations go towards the gift cards, and they also have other gifts that will be given. He said, “We had 96 kids last year and anticipate that number, if not higher, this year. The kids will come in and see all the gifts, and they will have time to pick the gift they would like, along with the gift cards. We will have Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and the elf here helping.”
“It means a lot to the kids,” Diane shared. “It’s very exciting to me to watch them get so excited.”
The Greenville Boys & Girls will hold their Christmas party for the kids on Thursday, December 19.
