GREENVILLE – Greenville Lady Wave sophomore pitching standout Ella Oswalt continues to add to an already remarkable high school résumé, earning 2025-2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) High School Region VIII First-Team All-Region honors and becoming eligible for All-American consideration.

The prestigious regional recognition comes after Oswalt captured First-Team All-Ohio honors in both her freshman and sophomore seasons, solidifying her place among Ohio’s elite high school softball players.

“Awesome honor to cap the season for Ella,” said Greenville Lady Wave head coach Jerrod Newland. “First Team NFCA All-Region is quite an honor, and now she is eligible to be selected for All-American honors.”

The recognition comes as Oswalt begins her summer travel softball schedule.

“Two-time First Team All-Ohio kid, and so excited for the summer,” Newland said. “She got the news this morning as she arrived in Colorado for the Sparkler Tournament.”

Oswalt has established herself as one of the state’s premier two-way players through her first two varsity seasons.

As a freshman, she posted a sparkling 0.69 earned run average, ranking second in the Miami Valley League while leading the conference with 19 victories and 164 strikeouts. She also excelled offensively, batting .519 to finish third in the MVL while adding one home run and 28 RBIs.

She elevated her game even further during her sophomore campaign.

In the circle, Oswalt dominated the MVL by leading the conference in all three major pitching categories with a microscopic 0.45 ERA, 24 victories, and 247 strikeouts. At the plate, she remained one of the league’s most dangerous hitters, batting .485 while leading the conference with 10 home runs and finishing second with 52 RBIs.

Her dominant performances helped power Greenville to another outstanding season and further established the Lady Wave as one of Ohio’s premier Division III softball programs.

Newland believes Oswalt’s greatest accomplishments may still lie ahead.

“Great kid with a big upside the next two years,” Newland said. “We can’t wait for the 2027 LWSB season and Team 50 to play next spring.”

With two varsity seasons still remaining, Oswalt will continue to lead the Lady Wave program under Hall of Fame head coach Jerrod Newland, giving Greenville fans every reason to believe even more milestones and honors are on the horizon.

Now, with First-Team All-Region recognition secured, Oswalt joins an elite group of players under consideration for NFCA High School All-American honors, adding yet another chapter to what has already become one of the most accomplished starts to a high school softball career in Greenville history.
