NORTH STAR – There will soon be a new fire engine responding to emergency calls for the North Star Community Fire Dept. (Station 13). The apparatus is a 2024 Rosenbauer on an International Commercial Chassis and includes a 1,500-gallon per minute pump with a 1,000-gallon water tank. The new truck will become the first-out engine, according to Fire Chief Mike McClurg.

It was ordered in August of 2022 from All American Fire Equipment and was delivered on September 14, 2024.

“We are currently doing training and purchasing equipment for this truck. Once training is complete, it will be put in service to serve our community,” said McClurg.

“Our current first-out engine is a 1995 International Smeal with a 1,250-gallon per minute pump with a 1,000-gallon water tank. This will become our second engine,” the Chief added.

With the addition of this truck, the station will have the 2024 Rosenbauer Engine, 1995 Smeal Engine, 2002 International Tanker and a 2020 Grass truck.

The fire station currently has 20 Volunteer Firefighters. Follow them on Facebook for updates and more.
