NEW MADISON – The Greenville Lady Wave traveled to New Madison to take on the Tri-Village Lady Patriots in a Thursday night preseason scrimmage.

“Today, we came in quarter by quarter; we did different things every quarter,” Greenville veteran coach Rachael Kerns said. “We tried different lineups, we tried different defenses. After four quarters of varsity, it was 12 points (TV up 12), which is realistic where we’re at.”

“We have to do a better job taking care of the ball and figuring out who can run the one for us,” Coach Kerns added. “That’s is what we used tonight for.”

Kerns used the night to search for a starting lineup for the upcoming season.

“It could be a game-by-game,” Kerns said, selecting a starting five. “If we need to take somebody out of the equation, Jayda (Lyons) has to start. Jayda can be a pest and pester somebody the entire length of the court. We had some good quarters and some not-good quarters,” We have to find what will work best for us moving forward. We must stay healthy and determine what group will click for us.”

Overall, Coach Kerns seemed pleased with the Lady Wave’s play.

“There is a lot of good to take away from tonight,” said Kerns. “We just have to figure out what will work for us.”
