GREENVILLE – The New Madison Kiwanis Club president Judy Bennett presented the Darke County Veterans Services (DCVS) a check for $1,453.32 in support of their annual Veterans Washington DC trip.

“Kiwanis is an organization that works to donate to our local organizations that need it,” said Bennett. “We donate to schools; we offer scholarships to high school graduates and even secondary college students. We donate to fire departments and local organizations, and we are thrilled to be able to donate to the DCVS Washington DC Trip for veterans.”

“We decided several years ago to do the Veterans Day at the fairgrounds,” Bennett said. “We publicize that veterans get a free sandwich, and we want to give back to all the local communities and all the people who help us.”

“I want to thank Judy and the New Madison Kiwanis for once again donating the proceeds of this great event to the Veterans of Darke County Washington DC trip,” said Darke County Veterans Services Director/CVSO Tom Pitman. “We really appreciate everything they do for us, as well as all the other organizations and businesses in the county who help us with the trip.”
