GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday afternoon.
Commissioners Matt Aultman and Marshall Combs were present. Commissioner Holmes was absent due to attending a Miami Valley Cap Meeting.
Under Resolution (R-366-2024), Examination and Allowance of Bills dated October 15th, 2024 were read and approved. The amount of the General Fund was $16,378.57; Outside General Funds were $51,762.25; with a Grand Total of $68,140.82.
Commissioners approved the Letter of Support to collect the “Domestic Violence Fees” for 2025. The amount is paid semi-annually and the received amount is estimated to be $10,500.00 for the year.
“It’s whatever we collect through court fees for marriages, annulments, divorces, etc.,” explained Aultman. “Whatever we collect through those, is then passed through to the Shelter for Violence for their operation.”
Commissioners approved a Change Order for the Darke County Airport. This will be due to the relocation of the electrical vault with Buschur Electric, Inc. Due to the relocation, they decided to change the completion date from July 25, 2023 to November 1, 2024.
Also approved was an Agreement with Julian & Grube for assistance in auditing from October 15, 2024 to be concluded by February 28, 2025.
Commissioner Aultman shared that this is due to new leadership and they are wanting everything organized and gone through. He also shared that some of their staff will also be helping during this process but an outside source will be ideal to help, whom they already do business with for state work.
Commissioner Combs shared that on October 26th from 10 am to 2 pm Darke County Sheriff’s Office, Darke County Family Health Services, Darke County Solid Waste, and the Drug Enforcement will be having a Public Prescription Pill Turn-In Day. This will be held at Family Health under the Pharmacy Awning.
The Darke County Board of Commissioners meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 pm.
