As we say goodbye to 2024, the team at My County Link (MCL) would like to reflect on all the amazing events, stories, people and all the other successes we have noticed throughout the year.
During 2024, MCL saw major growth in website traffic, social media engagement and local businesses and organizations that benefit from advertising on our digital platforms. Since the launch of our Veteran-owned and locally operated website, mycountylink.com, many things have added to the quick success of this online only local news source.
“I love working with our advertisers, it’s because of them we get to provide this free digital news source,” said Sales & Office Manager Tonya Keller. “The connections I’ve made over the years mean a lot to me. I love our county and surrounding areas and highlighting people, places and things is such a fun and rewarding experience.”
“I truly love all of my Tuesdays with Tonya and our Impactful Ripplers. Two of the Tuesdays with Tonya episodes really stood out this past year as they were very unique and interesting to learn about and share with everyone,” added Keller. “Visiting with Donna Knipp with Woven & Wood, LLC sharing her passion for the vintage sewing machines and Foureman’s Sand & Gravel celebrating their 70th year anniversary and learning how it all works and it comes from right here in Darke County!”

“Each Impactful Rippler is so deserving. Vera Barberine, 89 years young, was a stand out as she was so excited and I love that at her age, she’s still making an impact and showing all of us to continue to always give back,” Tonya concluded.
Website traffic on mycountylink.com grew by almost double in 2024, according to a Google Analytics year-over-year comparison report. The team is on track and now looks to the next milestone goal of one million visits at the end of 2025!
“Very encouraging to see the growth we have had with more local posts and nearly doubled our website visitor traffic,” said Webmaster & Journalist Clinton J Randall. “Year-over-year our site increased by double and is trending to hit the million-visitor milestone for 2025.”
“We have staff members and photojournalists bringing a variety of unique skills to help benefit My County Link,” Randall added. “I have now worked with four news organizations and by far, MCL is the best team to work with and I look forward to all the exciting things to come in 2025!”
When it comes to sports and local events coverage MCL strives to bring our readers all the stories, photos and more. Delivering this content is not a 40-hour-a-week job… but we do not look at it as work… it is our passion! Everything we do is to benefit the students, families and the community in general.

“A special thanks to Dale Barger, a good friend and business partner, for taking the reigns of My County Link as Publisher. Dale brings a wealth of business experience, years of sports coverage and photography to MCL. Dale continues to serve as the Sports Information Director of the Western Ohio Athletic Conference (WOAC),” stated MCL Editor Gaylen Blosser.
“Tonya Keller is the “Energizer Bunny” of the MCL team, keeping our books while keeping the doors open and heading up our sales department,” noted Blosser.
“Clinton Randall, a Reporter and our Webmaster is a good friend and the best at keeping our website up and running while creating digital designs for MCL and our advertisers. Clinton’s work on the back end often goes unnoticed, but his fingerprints are everywhere as he continues to enhance our site,” he explained.

“The Roundtable productions are informative and often humorous as we bring you interesting people. Thanks to Dr. Alex Warner and Michael Stegall for including me in the starting lineup and spot starters Ty House and Dale Barger. All past videos are available to view on our site,” Blosser continued.
“Thanks to Chris Norris, Jim Troutwine, Wesley Blackburn, Dan Stockton, Don Selander, Dennis Young Chuck Runner, Ethan Tutwiler and Rodney Baker for shooting photos for My County Link,” He went on to say. “Our media staff continues to grow, joining Linda Moody and our columnists as we move into 2025.”
“I want to thank God for allowing us to bring local news and photos to our many friends in a positive light,” concluded Gaylen.
My County Link is Veteran-owned and locally operated… This means we only deliver content that is relevant to the counties we serve and all the advertising dollars stay right here!
To wrap up the successes of 2024, MCL Publisher Dale Barger had this to say…
“From our Editor Gaylen Blosser who’s tireless quest to bring you endless award-winning photos of sports and events throughout Darke County and stories of interest you want to read. His photo coverage of the 2024 spring tornado captured the devastation and allowed all of us to share in what was an emotional event and then come together to get through it.”

“My favorite 2024 story and event by Gaylen was the return of Harley Edwin Alexander after missing for 70 years. It was another event that allowed everyone to come together and show patronage and respect to one of our own who paid the ultimate price for our freedom and got to come home to rest.”
“And who else can entertain and educate at the same time better than Tonya Keller in her fun way with her Tuesdays with Tonya video column? There are currently over 140 segments, if you have time, go through them, you’ll definitely learn interesting things about Darke County in a fun way. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite.”
“Her versatility also extends to making sure to look out for the best interest of our advertisers to ensure they are getting value for their dollar as she serves as our advertising director as well.”
“In order to deliver all of this we can’t do it with Clinton Randall who is the man behind the scenes to put forward the product you see on our website and social media engagements and that’s a lot to keep up with.”
“Clinton likes to surprise us from time to time including having fun with our logo with creative holiday themes around it as well as some creative holiday videos this year.”
“New in 2024, was the Agriculture Link landing page as we try and highlight our schools and their 4-H and FFA programs and all the great things they do.”
“To go along with that we have The Wave Report which features Greenville High School students willing to share their thoughts. We would like to extend this to all the schools in Darke County. For more information on this contact Gaylen Blosser.”
“I’m also thankful for all the talented volunteers and columnists we have on staff who give us their unique perspectives from local government, history, events, sports and feature interest stories.”
“2024 was a great year for My County Link and we look forward to serving and sharing with you even more in 2025. If you have a story you want to share or one you want us to cover give us a call or email us because it’s what we love to do.”
