GREENVILLE — The Rolling 50s Classics surprised My County Link editor and photographer Gaylen Blosser with a large trophy and honorary club membership during the organization’s annual Fall Cruise-In on Sunday.
Rolling 50s secretary Amanda Fischer said the club recognized Blosser for his coverage of its events, his service during the Vietnam War, and his continued involvement in veterans’ activities throughout Darke County and Ohio.
“First and foremost, we want to thank him for his service in Vietnam and for the other Veterans’ activities and duties he performs throughout the county and state,” Fischer said.
Fischer, a seven-year member of the Rolling 50s, said Blosser regularly attends the club’s shows and helps promote its activities through his stories and photographs.
“Gaylen is always here without fail at our shows,” Fischer said. “He takes pictures and posts them on My County Link. He always does a nice write-up for us, posts beautiful pictures and is very nice to work with.”
Fischer said the recognition was the club’s way of showing its appreciation for Blosser’s longtime support.
“We appreciate him more than he knows, so we have made him an honorary member of our club,” she said.
Rolling 50s President Stanley Duncan joined Fischer in presenting the award.
“We are glad to make this presentation to you,” Duncan told Blosser. “You are well deserving of it.”
Blosser expressed his appreciation to the organization following the surprise presentation.
“It is an honor to receive this trophy and honorary membership from such a wonderful group of people,” Blosser said. “The Rolling 50s have done so much for our community and continue to generously support local organizations each year. Their three annual Rolling 50s shows continue to put Greenville on the map.”
