GREENVILLE — The local Lowe’s donated the Christmas decorations for the Santa Claus House located downtown at the city’s traffic circle, adding to the holiday atmosphere enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
“I want to thank Lowe’s for their kind donation to the community for all the decorations for the Santa Claus House,” said Jeff Whitaker, mayor of Greenville. “They are a great part of our community. They have been here a long time, and I want to thank all their associates and management. Lowe’s is a big part of our community presence here in Greenville. To everyone, I wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

Greenville Lowe’s manager Tiffany Thompson, a Greenville Senior High School graduate, said giving back locally is important to her and the store’s team.
“Growing up here, it is really important to be a part of the community,” Thompson said. “Each year at Lowe’s, we have what is called our Lowe’s Heroes Project, where we get to participate in a community event and get involved, and we love to help out.”
“Christmas is a great time around here,” she added. “Everybody loves coming and participating in the Horse Parade and visiting the Santa House, so we were really excited to be able to help out this year and support the community. Hopefully, everyone enjoys it.”

This year’s donation included lights, decorations, and animatronics featuring scenes from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
“It takes so many people to put this whole thing together — from city crews to partners like Lowe’s,” said Ryan Delk, Greenville Safety Service Director. “There are many names on the wall who helped put the original Santa House together.”

Delk also credited Kristi Strawser with helping bring the Santa Claus House back to downtown Greenville and coordinating Santa appearances throughout the Christmas season.
“It’s a great example of community pride, with people coming together around the holidays,” Delk said. “We get so many compliments, and it really makes people happy. It’s an exciting time for us, and we can’t thank Lowe’s and all the crews who made this possible enough.”
