Life’s Reflections: Preparing for Easter and all it brings us

141

Easter is fast approaching, and hopefully, spring temperatures will accompany it. Let’s all remember the reason for the season and have a blessed celebration.

Let us count our blessings and be grateful for this wonderful life we’ve been given.
The older I get, I am learning, slowly but surely, that you should appreciate what you have.

Sure, not every day is going to be perfect, but it’s usually perfect for you and that’s all you need…not to mention a good family, good friends and good health.

I feel I have most of that but have been wondering in recent years about the health, but you have to see the humor in life and how it’s changing you as life keeps moving on.

“When older people say, ‘Enjoy them while they are young,’ they are talking about your knees and hips, not your kids.”

That is just one of the many postings that make reading Facebook messages an enjoyment for me. I love humor, and many of these postings make my day, especially if it involves laughing children, humorous tricks played on others (not bullying-type of antics), or just plain hilarious messages.

That statement two paragraphs up does make sense, and I am here to tell you I resemble that remark, especially this week. I don’t know what I did, but on top of having leg issues and knee pain, my hip has been giving me some issues in the past few days. I don’t remember running into anything or losing my balance and

As for any health issues, I have these two things handy if needed. Hopefully, I’m overthinking things again and won’t need them daily. (Linda Moody)

I really am trying to stay positive. It could be something as simple as a bruise inside the hip area, or maybe I have sciatic nerve pain, which I think can be eased by stretching the leg. At least that’s what I’m doing periodically, not to mention putting cold and heat alternately on the affected area several times a day.

It isn’t as bad as it was there for a day or so, so I’m thinking I’m on the right track.
If it goes on too long, though, I know I shall have to head for the doctor and I do have an appointment in the next few weeks. So I can wait until then, hopefully, to get some answers or advice, whichever comes first.

In the meantime, I am going to enjoy life.  Besides, I have a walker and cane nearby if worse comes to worse, and my son Jamie lets me hang on to him when we go out into the community. What more do I need?

Happy Easter!
