Lady Wave seventh graders defeat Xenia volleyball

GREENVILLE – The Lady Wave seventh-grade volleyball team defeated the visiting Xenia Lady Buccaneers 2-1 in MVL action.

“I am proud of the girls tonight,” said Greenville seventh-grade coach Maddy Innes. “We definitely used everything we have done from practice into our games tonight.”

Greenville dropped the opening set 25-19 but bounced back to take set No. 2 by a matching score, 25-19 to even the match at a game apiece.

“We had our struggles in that first set, but we were able to turn it around and play well in the second two sets,” Innes noted.

The seventh-graders upped their play on the court to take the deciding game three with a double-digit 25-14 score to earn the conference win over the Lady Buccaneers.

“It was a team win,” Innis stated. “We all had our moments where we were doing something that needed to be fixed, and the same goes for the positives.”
