GREENVILLE – The Green Wave welcomed the Celina Bulldogs to Harmon Field for a Friday night preseason football scrimmage and came away with some positives for the program as well as things to continue to work on.

“The positive is defensively with everything that we are doing new, our defense looked pretty good today,” said Greenville coach, Bart Schmitz. “People who were new knew what they were supposed to be doing and getting the job done.”
“Offensively we gained yards,” Schmitz added. “We have to find ways to be more consistent with it.”

The team was a little nicked up going into the night’s scrimmage giving Coach Schmitz and his staff opportunities to evaluate younger players.
“That’s part of the game,” Coach Schmitz noted. “We’re beat up right now – it’s not anybody’s fault. We need some of these kids to step up, want to get better and get after it – and they will. We’ll get there, we’ll turn on the film, we’ll see what we need to get better at and practice it this week.”
