GREENVILLE – Greenville hosted the Troy Trojans in a high school and junior high dual meet.
“When we get together we have fun meets,” said Greenville track and field coach, Bill Plessinger. “We have a lot of fun and we bounce a lot of ideas off each other. Everything in track is so competitive, you have to have some fun sometimes and when we get together we have fun meets.”
The Green Wave varsity girls earned 9-first place finishes and the varsity boys took 8-first place finishes.
The Greenville junior high girls took 6-first place finishes while the junior high boys took 13-first place finishes.
“I respect Troy,” Plessinger noted. “Both their coaches, their whole program, they have developed a great boys and girls program. We run them a lot, we see them a lot but we’re very friendly opponents. They’re good people. I like Troy and mostly I respect them.”
