GREENVILLE — Greenville Senior High School honored five seniors — Braylon Byers, Michael McMahon, Gibson Steyer, Brody Weaver and Layden Wion — before Wednesday’s home golf match against the Franklin Monroe Jets.
The teams completed several holes before the skies opened and heavy rain brought the match to an early end. The shortened evening still allowed Greenville to recognize the seniors for their contributions to the Green Wave golf program.
“It has been a pleasure to have the seniors on the team,” longtime Greenville coach Brian Stickel said. “They are hardworking, never complain and are always willing to do what is asked of them.
“They are always thinking team first,” Stickel added. “I know they will be very productive citizens after college or trade school. It is always tough to see seniors leave, and they will be missed.”
