PIQUA – The Greenville varsity boys golf team traveled to Echo Hills Golf Course and defeated the Piqua Indians on their home course 155-178 under the direction of Green Wave veteran head coach Brian Stickel.
“The boys played extremely well tonight,” said Coach Stickel. “Drew, Braxton, Chilly, and Hunter all had personal best scores for nine holes.”
Drew Beisner led Greenville with a 36, Braxton Moore shot a 39, Hayden Burns and Hunter Burns each finished with a 40, and Brody Weaver and Chilly Jasenski had a 44.
Lance Lawson and Brayden Myers paced Piqua, both shooting 42, Dane Funderburg with a 46, Blake Welling a 48, Brady Erwin with a 49, and Ethan Cox a 53.
“We saw a lot of smart course management today,” Stickel noted. “Hopefully, we can continue that play on Monday at the MVL tournament.”
The Greenville boys varsity golf team finished league Miami Valley League play with a 4-4 record and stands 4-5 overall on the season, with several non-league matches remaining to be played.
