The Upper Valley Career Center & BBS/ME German American Apprenticeship Partnership, that began in 2017, is preparing for its fourth exchange after taking a several-year break due to Covid. This program supports youth apprenticeship partnerships and exchanges between the two career technical schools.
UVCC will host 12 German apprenticeship students from October 21 until November 1. After their time in Piqua, the German students will travel to Chicago to attend the German-American Chamber of Commerce Meeting. BBS/ME will then host 12 Upper Valley Career Center students in Hannover, Germany, from March 2-14, 2024.
During their time in the United States, the German apprenticeship students will live with their host family, participate in school activities, be exposed to classroom academics career technical labs, take tours of local manufacturing facilities, explore local museums, and experience our local culture.
A kick-off event for this exchange is planned for Monday, October 23, at 8:30 am in the Upper Valley Career Center Adams Board Room.
