EATON – Eaton’s girls’ varsity basketball team dropped a pair of games this past week. The Eagles are now 7-7 overall, 4-4 in the Southwestern Buckeye League.
Eaton hosted Preble Shawnee on Monday, Jan. 9, hoping to end the Arrows’ five-game winning streak. The Eagles kept it close in the first half, trailing by just five points, 28-23. Eaton, however, was unable to cut into the deficit and the Arrows went on to a 64-48 win.
Lily Shepherd led Eaton with 17 points and Emilee Hargis added 10 points.
Eaton followed up with a home game against Valley View. The Eagles fell behind in the first quarter as Valley View shot well from the perimeter. The Spartans connected on four, 3-pointers in the opening quarter to take a 18-9 lead. VV extended their lead in the second half and came away with a 57-39 win.
Shepherd led Eaton with 16 points.
Eaton is scheduled to play at Arcanum on Tuesday, Jan. 17. They will host Oakwood on Thursday and then travel to Carlisle on Saturday.
