Commissioners talk airport, sheriff’s office

GREENVILLE—The Darke County Commissioners met on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the Darke County Airport and Darke County Sheriff’s Office. Commissioners Matt Aultman and Larry Holmes were present, with Commissioner Marshall Combs absent.

The board approved Resolution (R-62-2023), to separate the indigent legal contract within the Public Defender Dept., and transfer $6,000 for increasing costs of cap benches now and in the future.

Next, the board approved an amendment for a contract between Willo Products Co. and Darke County Board of Commissioners for rerouting of cabling to room 149 and recessing intercom stations within 40 jail cells at the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Next, the board approved Resolution (R-65-2023), and Resolution (R-66-2023), for two fund advances to cover Westerheide Construction bills for work at the Darke County Airport. The first fund advance is $81,656.44 for construction of the new terminal building, and the second fund advance is $62,694.33, for the work outside of the building.

On Thursday, the board will hold regular session at Darke County Board of Disabilities/Birchwood center, at 5844 Jaysville-St Johns Rd, Greenville, for a proclamation proclaiming March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in Darke County. There will be a proclamation reading at 1 p.m., followed by the regular session meeting at 1:30 p.m.
