The Darke County Seniors will be at the Fair

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Seniors will be present at the Great Darke County Fair and invite you to stop while enjoying the fair. They can be found near the gazebo under their white canopy.  Pick up a September flyer and calendar of upcoming events for September.  Admire the America 250 quilt they are raffling and consider purchasing a chance,  you can also place your order for hardy mums.  Delivery will be in mid-September.

Line dancers from the Senior Center can be seen dancing on the track around 12:30 pm on Thursday, August 27th. The public is welcome to join or simply watch.

RSVP by 8/20 for the Lunch & Learn.  This event will be held Thursday, August 26th at noon. The Greenville Care Center will be on hand to share highlights of what makes their facility stands out, while providing those registered with a balanced meal. There is no limit, however registration is necessary in order for there to be lunch for all who attend.

RSVP by 8/21 to be a part of the Mystery Lunch on Friday, August 28th. Meet at the Senior Center at 11:30 am.

The destination changes each month and will remain a surprise until arrival, unless you figure it out from the clues posted at the Senior Center and on Facebook. The group will carpool to destinations. All lunch locations will be less than one hour away.

Each person will be responsible for their own meal with prices ranging from $10-15.  Join other seniors on a trip to a “mystery” location for lunch. Bring your Senior membership card because there may be a discount.  Clues for August’s mystery lunch are:

  • This location has been open since 1886
  • 94% recommend this restaurant
  • A good place for watching sports
  • Delicious burgers & pizza
