Please vote Holly Daugherty for Darke County Fair Board

My name is Holly Daugherty, and I am asking for your vote and support on Thursday, August 27, to elect me to the Darke County Fair Board.

As a lifelong resident of Darke County, agriculture and the fair have always been an important part of my life. I was actively involved in both 4-H and FFA as a youth. I was proud to pass those same opportunities on to my two children. Both completed ten years as active 4-H members and participated in a variety of organizations, including FFA, D.A.R.E., the Arcanum Band program, 4-H Carteens and Young Farmers. Watching them grow through these experiences reinforced my belief in the importance of investing in our youth and preserving the traditions and values that make the Great Darke County Fair such a special part of our community.

I have spent many years working in the agricultural industry and currently work in the feed and grain business for Rowe Nutrition LLC. In addition, I have served as a 4-H advisor for more than 35 years. Throughout that time, I have been involved with numerous committees and currently serve on the Junior Fair Sale Committee and the Rabbit Committee.

I have been a 4-H advisor for 35 years and my family has been deeply involved with the Darke County Fair. During that time, I have witnessed firsthand the tremendous impact the fair has on young people. The Junior Fair provides experiences that teach responsibility, leadership, work ethic, sportsmanship, and lifelong life skills in ways that few other programs can. I believe it is our responsibility to preserve and strengthen these opportunities for future generations.

I also believe it is time for positive change. To ensure the continued success of the Darke County Fair, we must remain transparent with our members and the public, welcome new ideas and perspectives, and practice sound financial stewardship. Financial responsibility is essential to maintaining a strong, sustainable fair while allowing us to invest in future growth and improvements.

I have been involved in several barns at the fair with my children showing—including rabbits, goats, sheep, poultry, and beef—I have developed a broad understanding of the needs and challenges across our fair. I believe this experience allows me to represent a wide range of exhibitors and members while working collaboratively to strengthen the fair as a whole.

If elected, I will listen, lead with integrity, and always keep the best interests of our youth, exhibitors, volunteers, and fair community at the forefront of every decision as well as promoting transparency.

I would be honored to earn your vote on Thursday, August 27. Together, we can preserve the traditions that make our fair special while embracing the opportunities that will ensure its success for generations to come.
If you see me at the fair, please come and say hello! I would love to hear your thoughts on how the fair could be improved.

You can vote on Thursday, August 27, from 9 AM – 7 PM on the north side of the grandstands in the Sheriff’s office building. You must have a voter’s ticket. If you have a fair pass voucher, you can exchange it at the Secretary’s office for a voter’s ticket; this must be done by Wednesday, August 26 by 8 PM to be eligible to vote on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
