2 arrested on multiple drug charges

PREBLE COUNTY – On July 13th, deputies stopped a 2023 GMC pick-up truck on IS 70, west of US 127 as part of an on-going investigation into drug trafficking. A K-9 conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle and indicated a positive alert.

A probable cause search led to deputies locating approximately 45 pounds of raw marijuana, approximately 50 boxes of THC liquid hash vape cartridges and THC edibles. Deputies also located a large amount of US currency. All items were seized as part of the investigation.

Two suspects were arrested and formally charged in Eaton Municipal Court yesterday. They are Jamison B. Easley, age 25 of New Paris, the driver of the vehicle and Brenden S. Pitcher, age 26 of Richmond, Indiana, the passenger.

Both have been charged with Possession of Marijuana, a 2nd Degree Felony; Possession of Marijuana, a 3rd Degree Felony; Possession of Hashish, a 2nd Degree Felony; Trafficking in Marijuana, a 2nd Degree Felony; and Trafficking in Hashish, a 2nd Degree Felony.

As part of the investigation, officers assigned to the SAFE Crime Suppression Unit with the Richmond, Indiana Police Department executed a search warrant at 620 South 9th Street in Richmond. There, detectives located and seized approximately 20 pounds of raw marijuana, THC oil and wax, approximately 2 pounds of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, evidence of drug trafficking, a semi-automatic rifle and handgun and US currency. Richmond PD will be seeking additional charges for their investigation.

The investigator for the Preble County Prosecutor’s Office also partnered in this investigation. Easley and Pitcher remain in the Preble County Jail. Bond has been set by the court.
