ARCANUM – The Arcanum Trojans hosted the Brookville and Fort Loramie in a preseason scrimmage under the direction of head coach Kevin Brackman.

“We are going to be fun to watch,” said Brackman. “They are a great group of kids and all friends outside the gym. That is what we’re learning as a staff, and it carries over into the gym.”

“We lost a large senior class last year, so we have a lot of young guys that don’t necessarily have varsity minutes logged, but they are all friends, and that comradery is showing more and more as we take the court.”

“We have a lot of young guys who are playing hard,” Brackman continued. “Like every coach at this point, we’re figuring out who can do what and trying to master our identity and what we want to be this year.

Arcanum will look to speed and solid defense for the 2024-2025 season, as the team is not blessed with an abundance of size.

“We don’t have a big post player, but we have some posts that are interchangeable. Coach Brackman said. “We are trying to be quick getting up and down the floor. How we guard defensively will be a strong identity for us. We are kind of in the same boat as we were last year. Our style of play is going to be a little upbeat, and we have to have a high motor, and we definitely have to be in shape.”
