In early 2022, Coach Heather Suerdieck and her son, Cooper, started on a journey to inspire others through their words. With some inspiration from above, they created “The You Matter Project” where they work with businesses to sponsor and support students with inspirational wear. Schools receive You Matter silicone bracelets in his/her school colors. The bracelets also come with an inspirational pocket card with an inspirational video.
Coach Heather shared that “This is our God project” where we can grow hope for others through our bracelets. You get what you pay attention to, so why not wear something that helps inspire you, or the people around you, when you need it?
The You Matter Project also works with businesses and community groups to ripple the You Matter message to their youth groups, staff, co-workers, teachers, etc. Since 2022, the project, which was associated with Coach Heather’s other company, Inside Out Coaching LLC, was able to work with other businesses and community members to gift over 12,000 students in Darke, Preble and Mercer counties with the You Matter message. The project has also reached over an additional 5,000 people through sales and donations. The project has become so big that there was a need for a new approach to grow it.
Coach Heather shares, “We needed to set aside intentional space for God to grow it, so we created a new 501c3 non-profit, called Impactful Ripples Inc.”
Each year Coach Heather challenges her son to pick a project that he would like to support, and this year he chose The VA hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Coop wanted to support a group that so many often forget about.
With sponsorship help from GMT Roofing Inc. and Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Cooper and his mom were able to donate 500 You Matter bracelets to Veterans in red, white and blue this summer.
The non-profit has also been attached to other amazing non-profit organizations like Love is a Verb, who donated over 100 You Matter bracelets in their luggage donations to Montgomery County Children’s Services.
Our goal for this fall is to gift 6th, 7th and 8th graders in some schools in Miami, Montgomery, and Wayne Counties You Matter bracelets.
