UNION CITY, Ind. – On February 7, officers from the Union City Police Department responded to a domestic dispute in the 400 block of W. Oak Street.
Upon arrival, officers identified the individual involved as Jason Yoakum (29) who was found to have an active arrest warrant for Resisting Law Enforcement.
When officers informed Yoakum that he was under arrest, he resisted and physically assaulted multiple officers during the incident. Yoakum was ultimately subdued and taken into custody.
One officer sustained injuries during the altercation and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Yoakum also received treatment at the emergency department for injuries sustained while resisting arrest.
Following his release from medical care, Yoakum was transported to the Randolph County Jail and booked on the following charges:
– Resisting Law Enforcement Resulting in Bodily Injury
– Possession of Methamphetamine
– Possession of a Syringe (2 counts)
– Battery on Law Enforcement (2 counts)
– Battery on Law Enforcement Resulting in Bodily Injury
