VERSAILLES—The Worch Memorial Public Library recently welcomed Curtis Schafer as its newest Library Director.

Schafer was born and raised on a dairy farm in Russia, and studied history and english literature at the University of Evansville. He then went on to earn a Master of Library and Information Science from Kent State University.

He brings with him five years of experience as a reference department coordinator for Piqua Public Library and almost six years of experience as the Director at the Arcanum Public Library.

Schafer has been married to his wife Stacy for almost seven years, with whom he has three kids; Leo, Oliver, and Julia.

In his free time he enjoys gardening, hobby farming, reading (obviously) and spending time with family and friends.

The library will hold an open house meet and greet at the Worch Library on Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be catered.
