William “Bill” Eve, a beloved family man and friend to many, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, at the age of 84.
He was born in Middletown, Ohio, on July 12, 1941. Bill graduated from Greenville High School in 1960, where he proudly played football and basketball, lettering in both. Also loved playing basketball on many occasions for many years. Shortly after High School, he joined the United States Army, serving as a Military Police Officer in Korea. Later on, he worked for the US Forest Service, where his Love for the outdoors became not just a passion, but a lifelong calling. Whether in the woods for work or foraging for mushrooms for fun, Bill felt most himself in nature.
Bill had a flair for life’s simple pleasures, including live music, PBS specials, reruns of Ridiculousness, cheering faithfully for the Seahawks & Mariners, watching horse races, and even making a tradition out of “Casino Mondays”! A natural prankster and storyteller, he was known for his quick wit, unforgettable dance moves, and his signature tall tales– affectionately known as ” Bill-Eve-its”! Whether the stories were true or not hardly mattered; what mattered was the laughter they brought.
He is survived by his loving wife Pamela Eve; his sisters Deidre Dohse and Peggy McGraw; his daughters Melissa, Michelle, Shae and Jessica; His grandchildren Josh, Wesley, Dylane, Isaiah, Colton, & Tanner; and six great-grandchildren who brought him endless joy and pride!
Bill’s warmth, humor and unmistakable charm left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed!
