GREENVILLE – Wayne HealthCare is pleased to announce that Derek Mayberry, MBA, MSN, RN, NE-BC, has joined the organization as Vice President of Operations, effective December 1. In this role, Mayberry leads clinical and operational performance initiatives that reinforce Wayne HealthCare’s strength as a rural, independent hospital while advancing strategic growth priorities that improve care close to home.
Mayberry most recently served as System Director of Ambulatory Cardiopulmonary Services for Premier Health, where he successfully improved access, optimized workflows, and expanded outreach for cardiopulmonary programs, including echo, stress testing, sleep services, heart failure clinics, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation across multiple campuses.
His leadership experience spans inpatient and outpatient operations, nursing, shared governance, and service line strategy. Prior to his system-level role, Mayberry served as Director of Nursing at Miami Valley Hospital for medical/surgical, neuro advanced care and ICU, dialysis, and bariatric services.

A native of Darke County and resident of Arcanum, Mayberry’s roots in the region fuel his dedication to strengthening local healthcare. He holds dual master’s degrees, an MBA in Healthcare Management and an MSN in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University, and is a board-certified nurse executive (NE-BC).
Mayberry remains active in community and professional organizations, including the American Heart Association (formerly serving as Dayton Chapter President), the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the American Organization of Nursing Leadership (AONL), and Darke County 4-H, where he serves as President of the Swine Committee and advisor.
