JUNK VEHICLE
November 24th, 2025 – At approximately 10:08 pm, I was dispatched to the area of 233 W Main St. in Greenville on a junk motor vehicle complaint.
Upon arrival, I located a black/gray Chevy 1500 truck bearing Ohio registration JGU1020 sitting on cement blocks and missing three tires, parked on a gravel parking spot behind the residence. The vehicle appeared junk and inoperable for quite some time; the plate was run through LEADS/NCIC and it was discovered that the vehicle belongs to Travis Burton.
This vehicle can be considered a junk motor vehicle; a notice was completed and placed on the front windshield. I will follow up with the report in 15 days. An email was sent to SSD Ryan Delk and he was advised of the report.
WARRANT
November 25, 2025 – At approximately 3:38 pm, I was called to the Greenville Police Department in reference to a wanted person.
Upon my arrival, I made contact with Tyler Merritt, who was requested to come to the Greenville Police Department by his Parole Officer. Tyler had an active warrant out of the Greenville Police Department. Dispatch confirmed the warrant through LEADS/NCIC.
The warrant was for failure to appear for sentencing on the original charge of larceny. I placed Merritt in handcuffs that were gap-checked and double-locked. Merritt was searched incident to arrest and no contraband was located.
Merritt was transported to the Darke County Jail and was released to jail staff. The back of my cruiser was checked before and after transporting Merritt and no contraband was found.
