CLAYTON – The Greenville varsity boys tennis team earned its seventh consecutive win in a 4-1 Wednesday non-conference defeat of the Northmont Thunderbolts.

“Proud of another great team win, most winning dominantly, giving us our seventh straight win,” said Green Wave coach, Sam Bowers.

Greenville’s Mason Pierri and Mason Middlestetter won their matches at singles and the doubles teams of Will Gettinger / Simon Snyder and Drew Beisner / Avery Yount earned wins.

“Best part about winning is seeing everyone on our team’s confidence improving each match,” Bowers stated. “We had a brutally tough schedule to start the year with a young team, but we continued to compete!  So, seeing them having fun, gaining confidence is what I’m enjoying.”

With the Wednesday night road win over the Bolts, Greenville improves to 9-7 on the season.

“Come support our team this Friday for Senior Night at 4:30,” Coach Bowers said.

Greenville will honor its seniors this Friday, April 28 on Senior Night prior to its home match with Lehman Catholic at Greenville National Bank Courts.
