With warm weather impending, there are going to be even more activities for this area in the coming weeks, so drivers are urged to be even more careful in their travels.
I haven’t been out too much in recent days, but I’m sure all of the graduation ceremonies in Darke County have taken place. I congratulate all who were honored in these ceremonies……from kindergarten to high school and even at the college level.
I remember when summer vacation was a delight when we were younger and I’m sure the current generation feels the same way.
Everyone will be sure to enjoy all of the festivals and other entertainment set for this year.
In our school district, there will be the Rossburg Fire Association’s Ice Cream Social, this coming Saturday, June 7. The serving of the famous barbecued chicken there starts around 4 p.m., and all kinds of events/activities for the entire family are offered that day.
Those include its famous pie auction, a silent auction, a Queen of Hearts drawing, a 50/50 drawing, music, and, for the children, a tractor pull and other games.
Garage sales are also beginning to start up and Ansonia’s will be this week. The Ansonia Community Garage sales are set for June 5-7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Several listings are on the map, which will be available at most area businesses by June 4.

I would like to extend our sympathy to those impacted by the fire at St. John the Baptist Church in Maria Stein this week. What a loss this has to be for that entire community. It’s my hope and prayer that life returns to normal there as soon as possible.
