Ward Eugene (Gene) Putterbaugh, 76, of Columbus/Upper Arlington, joined the Spirit in the Sky on October 12, 2023. He was born in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Ward Eugene and Florence Lucille (Kruckeberg) Putterbaugh.
Gene is survived by his sister, Beverly Gene Larson (Steve), and his daughters, Mari Morris (Rob), Melissa Morrison (James Rinehart), Monica Putterbaugh, and Megan Putterbaugh. His Granddaughters, Taylor, Emma, Alexa, Abigail, and Della. Great Granddaughters, Veda and Indigo. Nephews Jeff Marckel, Eric Marckel, and Chris Marckel (Kathryn).
Gene graduated from Upper Arlington High School and joined the United States Air Force, serving from 1966-70.
A Graveside service with military honors will be conducted on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery, with the Versailles Veterans Honor Guard conducting the service.
