Vivian Smith, of Greenville, Ohio (89)


Vivian Smith, 89 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday December 19, 2022 at 5:39 PM at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.

Vivian was born December 6, 1933 in Barbourville, Kentucky, the son of the late Albert and Otie (Gray) Hardy. Vivian retired from nursing and Home Healthcare, but also worked for many years at Century Electric Motors in Gettysburg, Ohio. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, puzzles, collecting Boyd Bears, and gardening, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her precious family.

Vivian is preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Molly Hardy; her son, Rick Smith, and her siblings, Alberta Hardy, Lawrence Hardy, and Edward Hardy.

Vivian is survived by her daughter and son in law, Michelle and Greg Mader of Greenville; her stepson Ken and Sherry Preston of Florida; her grandchildren, Terri (Andy Hershbarger) Razzano, Meagan (Wayne Bruening) Mader, and Justin and Amber Mader; her great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Daugherty, Zoe Razzano, Owen Hershberger, and Hudson Mader; her siblings, Virgil Hardy, Bill Hardy, Dan Hardy, Albert Hardy, John Hardy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday December 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Darke County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Smith family
