VERSAILLES – Versailles drops fourth straight with a 52-14 loss to Coldwater. The Tigers started the game with a solid defensive stand by holding Coldwater on fourth down at their own 29-yard line. From that point on, it was all downhill for Versailles.
The Tiger offense could not move the ball, and Coldwater would score 28 unanswered points.
Versailles scored with seven minutes left in the second quarter to cut the lead to 28-7. The Cavaliers would score twice more to take a 42-7 lead. The Tigers attempted a 42-yard field goal but came up short just before the half.

The Cavaliers scored on the Tigers’ opening possession when an interception was returned for a touchdown, their second pick-six of the game.
“Turnovers kill ya, and we have had plenty of them.” Coach Jones said. “Anytime you can’t take care of the ball, it’s gonna be really hard to beat a team, especially a good team like Coldwater.”
The Tigers tried a short 40-yard field goal.

Coldwater would start subbing in players. The Tigers scored on an eleven-yard pass from Ethan Wilker to Tyler Barga to make it 49-14. A blocker punt set up the score.
The Cavaliers would kick a field goal with 5:26 left in the game. The Tigers are now 5-4 on the season, with St. Henry on the schedule this coming Friday.
