Valentine’s dance for individuals with developmental disabilities

GREENVILLE – Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. is playing at St. Clair Memorial Hall on February 13-14 at 7:00. The 60-minute musical, designed for middle-school-aged performers, is based on the 2008 Broadway production and the 1989 animated feature film. The Greenville Middle School Theater Workshop cast contains approximately 65 students, led by Kari Thompson

“These students have been working extremely hard this year,” Thompson states. We started work at the beginning of November and have moving right along ever since. These students have really made each of these characters come to life and it is almost like watching the movie live. Even with the amount of canceled rehearsals, you won’t be able to tell, as these students haven’t missed a beat.”

This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award® winning animated feature film, as well as three new songs from the Broadway show. THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she’s the girl with the perfect voice.

Admission is $5 for children 4-17 and $8 for adults. All tickets are $10 at the door 45 minutes prior to each show. To order tickets ahead of time, please visit our website: https://our.show/gmslittlemermaidjr

The Greenville Middle School Theater Workshop was founded by Grace Kensinger and Marty Davis in 1985. This is the 41st production by the group. The workshop organization comprises students in grades 5-8 attending the middle school, St. Mary’s, and Montessori Schools in Greenville. This year, we are dedicating our production to Grace Kensinger, who recently passed away in January. We hope to keep the theater legacy alive at GMS for years to come, thanks to her dedication and love for the arts, along with Marty.
