DARKE COUNTY – On Friday at approximately 8:04 p.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Arcanum Police and Fire and Rescue, responded to the intersection of SR 49 and Alt. SR 49 North in reference to a two-vehicle accident with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a Black 2017 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by April Thurston (43), of Albany, Indiana, was traveling Southeast on SR 49. An unknown, dark colored vehicle, was traveling Southeast on SR 49 behind Thurston. The unknown vehicle struck the rear end of her vehicle and left the scene of the accident.
Thurston and her passenger, Christina Devoe (45), of Hartford City, Ind., were transported to Wayne HealthCare to be treated for minor injuries.
Anyone who may have information regarding the vehicle that left the scene is encouraged to contact the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
This accident remains under investigation.
