ARCANUM – The Summer Reading Program, “Unearth a Story,” begins at the Arcanum Public Library on June 1st with a Kick-Off starting at 10:30AM. JC Mining Store is coming to help children who have preregistered at the library front desk, with mining for fossils and treasure. Please call the front desk to reserve a time slot.
For anyone who registers, they will receive a 9-week packet of weekly reading logs. On the children’s reading logs, each icon represents 15 minutes of reading, and they may mark them off their sheet as they complete the time. The reading logs may be submitted any time by August 1st, and a librarian will award “Dino Dollars” in the amount of time turned in on the log sheets. Prizes in the prize cabinets for ages 0-12th grade can then be “purchased” with the library “Dino Dollars” as a reward.
Adults are also invited to register for the Summer Reading Program, and there is a weekly gift basket prize drawing of the names of registered adults who turned in a log sheet that week.
This would not be possible without the many donations the library has received. The library is incredibly grateful and wants to thank the many local businesses that have helped support the Summer Reading Program this year!! Thank you!!
