TROY – Troy Utility Crews will be seen throughout the city flushing hydrants to assist with bleeding out air and settlement to minimize further disruptions as water service is restored to residents and businesses northeast of the river.
East Staunton Road between North Market Street and Ohio Avenue will remain closed throughout the day due to the need for a non-water conduit to be repaired. That conduit, which is shielding telephone and other wiring, was damaged by the water main break and subsequent repairs. Again, those repairs are anticipated to take the entire day today to complete by a private contractor. Staff will be stationed at the open pit where the main break occurred for the safety of the community and the pit will be backfilled as soon as all conduit repairs are completed.
The boil advisory warning remains in effect.
