DARKE COUNTY – On Saturday, at approximately 7:54 p.m. Darke County Deputies along with Liberty Township Fire Department and Tri-Village Rescue, were dispatched to the 800 block of US 36 West, Greenville, in reference to an injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a silver Lexus ES was traveling east on U.S. 36 near Hillgrove-Southern Road. The driver, Samuel Wyrick (83) of Troy, failed to negotiate the curve, causing him to drive off the road and roll over.
Wyrick and his passenger, Rebecca Wyrick (77) of Troy, were transported to Wayne HealthCare for minor injuries sustained from the crash.
Wyrick was issued a citation for failure to maintain reasonable control. Speed unsafe for the conditions of the roadway is a suspected contributing factor.
