Tri-Village powerlifting team competes in Kenton

KENTON—The Tri-Village Powerlifting Team traveled to Kenton HS to compete in the Kenton Regional Powerlifting Meet on Saturday Jan. 28. There were 30 schools and 400 plus lifters represented.

The boys team placed sixth out of 10 full teams and the girls placed seventh out of eight full teams. There were around 20 lifters in each weight class.

Individual results for the boys who placed in the top six: Mavin Robinson placed fourth in the 125lb. class, Matthew Brewster placed sixth in the 125lb. class, Shaun Crawford placed fourth in the 145lb, Cameron Kimmel placed third in the 250lb, Christian Cantrell placed fifth in the 250lb. class and Seth Jesse placed fifth in the unlimited class. Six out of 24 boys placed in the top six.

Individual results for the girls who placed in the top six: Macy Howell placed third in the 155lb, Kaylee Rich-Welch placed third in the 175lb. class, Loryn Metzcar placed fifth in the unlimited class.

Loryn Metzcar broke/set Tri-Village school records in the Bench: 150, Squat: 355, Deadlift: 330 at this meet. Three out of 10 girls placed in the top six.

Their next meet is Feb. 18 at Bradford HS for the Bradford Regional Powerlifting Meet.
