ARCANUM – The Tri-Village boys basketball team bolted to a 21-7 first-period lead, 41-17 by the half, then cruised to a 78-36 win, dominating the Trojans for a WOAC league win.
The Patriots let 6’6” sophomore Dom Black work inside for nine first-quarter points, matching the same total by teammate Trey Sagester.
Arcanum struggled to get offense going especially after senior Landon Flatter picked up his second foul early and sat the bench and the Patriots full-court pressure and half-court man pressure hindered opportunities.
In the 2nd quarter Black added 8 more points of the 20 TV scored in the frame. Arcanum got a lift on two triples from Cohen Etherington, but the Trojans trailed 41-17 at the break.

The third quarter was an offensive barrage by Tri-Village, with scoring across the board. Sophomore guard Griffin Richards had 9 of his 15 points, Noah Finkbine had 7 of his 11, including a thundering one-hand throw-down, and junior forward Kasyn Hollinger had 6 points.

Arcanum mustered up just 4 points and trailed 69-21, allowing a running clock to play out the game quickly in the final stanza.
Arcanum had 10 guys score in the game, no one in double figures, and they won the final frame 17-9 but would take their 3rd loss of the year, falling 78-36 to the Patriots.
