OHIO—The National Weather Service has put local counties under a tornado watch this afternoon.

Scattered strong to potentially severe thunderstorms will overspread the region including the following counties Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Greene, Hamilton, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby, Warren through 3 p.m. Wind gusts in excess of 50 mph will be possible with the stronger storms.

Tonight, they report showers are likely in the Darke County area, and possibly a thunderstorm before 7 p.m., then a chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 37. Breezy, with a west wind 21 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 47 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
